Three times the size of the Amazon and home to most of Earth’s liquid surface freshwater, the boreal forest is one of the planet’s most important ecosystems – yet few people have ever heard of it. In Boreal Wilderland, acclaimed wildlife and wilderness artist, expedition canoeist, and naturalist Rob Mullen presents the beauty, cultural significance, and global importance of this vast biome.

About the Author
Rob Mullen is a wildlife and wilderness artist, naturalist, and expedition canoeist whose work combines art, adventure, and conservation. Holding a degree in biology from the University of Vermont, he spent 16 years as a freelance advertising artist in New York City before returning to Vermont in 1994 to pursue wildlife art full-time. A nationally recognized and award-winning artist, Mullen is the founder of the Wilderness River Expedition Art Fellowship (WREAF), which has run more than 20 wilderness art expeditions across North America.
