Discover the forest through hands-on play\, and celebrate creativity with the art form that is fairy houses. Build for fun\, or enter in our contest for the chance to win prizes. Be sure to hit the trails on a fairy hunt for the chance to explore and learn about the forest around you while searching for our fairy friends. Enjoy the day with other magical activities such as crafts\, face painting\, a bubble lab\, and fantastically themed live animal programs. \nCostumes are highly encouraged! \nFairy House Building Contest \nThe Contest is open for anyone to build up until the deadline of 5 PM on August 21. Registration does not cover admission. \nAll materials (with the exception of adhesives) must be non-living when gathered and sourced from nature. Materials cannot be gathered from a pre-existing fairy house. \nPlacement: houses must be placed trailside at a lettered spot\, along the Fairy Town Trail. Upon placement please fill out an information card provided. Houses can be placed no later than 5 PM on August 21 and may be constructed and placed as early as August 17 during regular business hours (10 AM – 5 PM). Houses can be built on site\, or off sight and brought in for placement. \nHouses must be built to fit within an area of 2ft by 2ft. There are no restrictions on height or weight. \nWinners for each age category will be selected by a panel of judges and awarded with a gift bag from the ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ Nature Store. A crowd favorite will be voted on from within all the categories to receive a grand prize of a Private Experience – Animal Encounter. Ascend into the treetops on the Forest Canopy Walk and immerse yourself in the beauty of the summer foliage. Expect a slow-flow class that will incorporate sun salutations\, standing poses\, balance poses\, and brief meditation. All levels of experience are welcome. \nDetails For Participants: \n\nParticipants should dress in layers for being outdoors and bring a yoga mat.\nThis workshop is designed for adults 18 and up.\nInterested youth 13 and up may participate with an adult.\nIn the event of rain\, this event will be relocated to a covered outdoor area.\n\nAbout the Instructor:\nSharon Comeau has been practicing yoga since 1999 and teaching since 2005. She started as an apprentice under Leslie Carleton’s fine tutelage\, and received certification from Yoga Alliance in 2010\, after studying with Deb Neubauer and Todd Norian. Sharon came to yoga from her interest in movement\, as an athlete and dancer for most of her life. She started with Bikram Yoga\, moved to the Upper Valley and in her yoga practice into vinyasa yoga\, and her teacher training was in Hatha Yoga\, focused on the Anusara School of Yoga.
