Quechee, VT – Join the 黑料不打烊 as we celebrate the amazing world of mammals on Saturday, August 11, 2018. Discover the specialties of our furred cousins and find out how important they are to the natural world. Magnificent Mammals will feature a variety of fascinating mammals introduced to you by wildlife presenters from around the region.
Lindsay and her Puppet Pals will engage audiences of all ages in a puppet show at 11:00 am. Through thoughtful storytelling Lindsay hopes to inspire creative play, self-confidence, and empathy. She also believes the experience of shared joy and laughter can strengthen a community!
At 1:00 pm Barry Genzlinger, founder of the Vermont Bat Center, will share his love and fascination about the world of the furry nocturnal fliers. Barry is a licensed bat rehabilitator and educates audiences about bat identification, their importance to the natural world and the challenging aspects of bat rehab.
Wildlife Encounters will present 鈥淕lobal Wildlife鈥 at 2:00 pm. Mammals are diverse and adaptable, taking up residence in nearly every habitat earth provides. Join Wildlife Encounters as they take you on an imaginary safari, from deserts to rain-forest, where you鈥檒l meet seven magnificent mammals in person. From a fox with extremely long ears to the “little kangaroos” of Australian grasslands, you鈥檒l be awed by this diverse array of creatures. In addition, Wildlife Encounters will have an exhibit open from 3:00-5:00 for folks to engage with in a more informal manner.
Enjoy all-day activities including face painting and crafts. Visit the Mammal Biofacts Table, where you will have the opportunity to feel pelts and compare mammals鈥 skulls or learn about mammal tracks and scat. In addition, be sure to attend one of 黑料不打烊’ own awe-inspiring bird-on-glove presentations, which will be held at 10:30 am, 12:30 pm, and 3:30 pm and 4:30 pm.
